Dozier Elementary Student Wins State Level PTA Award
For the third year in a row, a Dozier Elementary School student came home a winner from the Texas PTA Reflections contest.
Jacob Grams, a third-grade student, represented EMS ISD at the May statewide competition in Live Oak, near San Antonio.
Grams received an Honorable Mention award by Texas PTA President Jennifer Easley for his photography submission for the theme "I am Hopeful Because."
“I really enjoy Fine Arts. I am happy that my expression through music and art can reach others,” Grams said. “I like participating in Reflections because it is fun. I can take the theme each year and make it my own. I want to win gold in music composition at the state level next.”
This was Grams third time winning a state level award in the PTA Reflections Contest. He received an award of merit in photography during the 2021-2022 contest, and an award of merit in music composition during the 2022-2023 contest.
Grams has advanced to the state contest each year after winning the EMS ISD Reflections Contest hosted by the EMS ISD PTAs.
“I like the local level Reflections program because it gives me the chance to see a lot of students' work in real life,” said Grams. “At the state level it is cool to see the ideas from students from elementary through high school.”
We are #EMSproud of Jacob Grams and all the EMS ISD students who participated in the PTA Reflections Contest.
