Hatley Elementary School kicked off its first-ever Annual Turkey Trot 1 Mile Fun Run on Thursday, November 21, 2024, filling the school grounds with excitement, laughter, and a bit of friendly competition. The event, held during enrichment classes, offered students a fun and healthy way to get into the Thanksgiving spirit.

The Turkey Trot encouraged students to get moving and take part in a race around the school building. Each grade level had its own race, and the fastest student in each grade took home a special prize: a frozen turkey, generously donated by Albertson’s, just in time for Thanksgiving dinner.

In addition to the turkey, winners received a medal and a fun sign that read “Winner, Winner, Turkey Dinner.” The event was a hit with both students and teachers, creating a festive and energetic atmosphere throughout the school.

The success of the inaugural Turkey Trot has Hatley Elementary already planning for next year’s event. It was a wonderful way for students to stay active, show their school spirit, and kick off the holiday season.
