City of Fort Worth Honors Rough Riders
The Saginaw High School Rough Riders received a special recognition on Wednesday, December 18, from the City of Fort Worth. District 7 Councilwoman Macy Hill presented the football team with a plaque commending the football team's historic winning season, which ended with an undefeated, 10-0, record in district play that earned them the title of District Champions for the first time in school history. Following the successful regular season, the Rough Riders went on to earn the school's first-ever playoff win and the title of Bi-District Champions.
"These accomplishments reflect the dedication, talent, and hard work of the entire team, coaching staff, and supporters," Ms. Hill's recognition reads. "The Saginaw Rough Riders 2024 season will be remembered as a historic chapter in the school's sports legacy."
EMS ISD Board President Dr. Marilyn Tolbert and Board Vice President Paige Ring joined the celebration along with SHS Principal Dr. Cynthia Webber and Head Coach Mike Peters.
"I am so proud of these young men," Peters said. "They have overcome the challenges and are deserving of their accomplishments. Thank you so much to Councilwoman Macy Hill and the City of Fort Worth for recognizing the success of this special group."
Congratulations to our SHS Rough Riders! We are #EMSproud of your hard work and dedication that led to your success!
