EMS ISD Childcare celebrates Week of the Young Child
EMS ISD's Employee Childcare at the Hafley Development Center celebrated their annual Week of the Young Child, April 16-20. The week is an opportunity to acknowledge the importance of the early years in laying the foundation for success in school and life, and also the individuals who work throughout the year to help young children thrive.
Week of the Young Child officially started on Monday with a kick-off event in the morning held at the Hafley Development Center. The theme of the week was "Planting the Seeds of Kindness." Parents, students, staff, and community members gathered to celebrate the event that featured:
- A welcome message by Carol Renfro, Hafley Development Center Principal
- An opening by EMS ISD Superintendent Dr. Jim Chadwell
- Music performances by the Prairie Vista MS band, led by director April Robnett
- Cheer and dance routines by Chisholm Trail Cheer, led by coach Julianna Clark
- Song performances by the two-year-old and four-year-old classes from EMS ISD Child Care, led by Jane Lyon
