Eagle Mountain-Saginaw FFA Shines at FWSSR 2025
Fort Worth 2025: A Year of Achievement for Eagle Mountain-Saginaw FFA at FWSSR
The 2025 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo (FWSSR) has officially wrapped up, and it was a truly remarkable year for our Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD students! For the first time in many years, our FFA chapter had the opportunity to compete in four different specie shows, and our students absolutely shined. The dedication and hard work they put into their livestock was evident every step of the way. We are incredibly proud of all their efforts and the lasting memories they created at this year’s event.
Breeding Heifer:
Lillian Mitchell, an 11th grader at Boswell High School (BHS), competed in the breeding heifer category, showcasing her commitment to excellence. Her attention to detail and determination were clear as she worked hard to prepare her heifer for the big show.
Breeding Goats:
Eli and Abel Brookshire, both 4th graders from Dozier Elementary School, made a strong impression in the breeding goat competition. Their teamwork and care for their goats were impressive, and it was exciting to see these young FFA members already displaying such responsibility and passion for agriculture.
Market Goats: In the market goats category, we had a fantastic showing from Sierra Santana (BHS), Melissa Neal (Eagle Mountain High School – EMHS), and Austin Holton (EMHS). These students worked diligently with their goats, and it was evident that their dedication paid off. Their presence in the ring was a proud moment for our district!
Breeding Sheep:
Madison Hearne from Chisholm Trail High School (CTHS) and Amelia McIlroy from BHS showed their breeding sheep with pride. Both 11th and 10th graders, they demonstrated incredible skill in animal care and preparation, earning recognition for their hard work.
Market Lambs:The competition in the market lambs category was fierce, and our students rose to the challenge. Haleigh Tribble and Madison Hearne from CTHS, Trystin Ellis from EMHS, and Amelia McIlroy from B
HS all showcased their lambs with professionalism and pride. Their hard work was evident throughout the entire process, from raising the lambs to preparing for the show.
Breeding Gilts:The breeding gilts show was well-represented by four talented students from BHS: Cassandra Basnight, Emma Crawford, Isabella Sarabia, and Jayden Russell. These 9th and 10th graders demonstrated the leadership and skill that are hallmarks of our FFA program, and they certainly made a strong impression at FWSSR.
Market Barrows:
We saw an impressive display of talent from our younger students in the market barrows competition. Tate Smith, an 8th grader at Wayside Middle School, and Lilah Scott, a 4th grader from Elkins Elementary School, both showed their pigs with confidence and skill, proving that age is no barrier when it comes to dedication and hard work.
This year’s participation at the FWSSR was a testament to theperseverance, responsibility, and passion of our students. Every student who participated, whether in the show ring or behind the scenes, exemplified the very best of the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw FFA program. Their dedication to their animals, their work ethic, and their pride in representing our district make us incredibly proud.
Congratulations to all our students, families, and FFA mentors for making this year’s experience one to remember. The lessons learned and memories created at FWSSR will last a lifetime. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for our Eagle Mountain-Saginaw FFA members as they continue to grow, learn, and succeed.
