Lake Pointe Elementary chosen as a 2019 ICLE Model School
Lake Pointe Elementary School has been chosen as a 2019 Model School by the International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE) for standing out as an exemplary leader among hundreds of other campuses from districts across the country.
Model Schools are selected annually based on a number of criteria including substantive, data-validated growth year over year; evidence of a strong culture that puts students at the center of learning; and dedication to transforming instruction to meet the needs and demands of the future. The application process included an overview of campus demographics, related social media, submission of a video clip demonstrating rigor and relevance, and an interview with ICLE representatives. Schools chosen by ICLE for this distinction must demonstrate the strides the campus administrators, faculty, and staff have made to strengthen rigorous learning for all students, increase student achievement, and build a culture of innovation.
Representatives from LPES have been invited to speak at ICLE’s Annual Model Schools Conference in June in Washington, DC. At the conference they will have the opportunity to showcase best practices with thousands of educators from across the nation. The Model Schools Conference provides educators at all levels a forum where they may connect, share, and learn how to accomplish educational initiatives within their own classrooms, schools, and districts.
"The Lake Pointe OWLS are thrilled to be designated as a 2019 Model School by the International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE)," said Dr. Audrey Arnold, Principal. "We are honored to represent Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD and Lake Pointe Elementary at the Model Schools Conference in Washington DC this June. Lake Pointe Elementary School is One Team where all members (teachers, staff, parents, and students) are committed to igniting rigorous learning through meaningful relationships and a positive nurturing culture. We are so excited to share our story with other schools from around the country."
Lake Pointe's distinction as a Model School illustrates Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD's commitment to fostering a culture of excellence through the implementation of the school district's strategic plan known as Aspire 2022. Increasing rigor and relevance in the classroom and incorporating professional development to support sustainable academic growth through hands-on learning creates a climate in which a passion for a lifetime of continuous learning and achievement is instilled in every EMS student. LPES is the third Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD campus to be named a Model School by ICLE, as Boswell HS received the honor in 2016 and Remington Point ES in 2017. EMS ISD commends Lake Pointe Elementary on their efforts to bring Aspire 2022 to life within the classroom!
