EMS ISD is pleased to announce that the Boswell High School head band director role has been filled with a familiar face. Mr. Kevin Fallon, formerly the BHS assistant band director, takes over the Director of Bands position from David Kirkley who retires at the end of June.

Mr. Fallon joined Boswell’s faculty in 2015 as assistant band director and has led the Boswell Band of Gold as well as the Jazz program. He also has conducted the Concert Bands, taught Advanced Placement Music Theory, and coordinated student leadership development within the Boswell Band program. Prior to coming to Boswell, Fallon served as the head band director at Azle Junior High School and at Riverton High School, where he began his professional teaching career in 2005. He also served on the low brass faculty for Crescent School of Music in Utah and on the instructional staff for the Blue Devils and Yamato Drum & Bugle Corps.

“Mr. Kevin Fallon is a dynamic, student-centered music educator, and we are excited that he will be serving our students as the Boswell High School Director of Bands,” said Shawn Bell, Director of Fine Arts.

Mr. Fallon earned a Bachelor’s in Music Education from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and a Master’s in Conducting & Pedagogy from Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Bandmasters Association, the National Association for Music Education, the National Band Association, the Jazz Education Network, the Percussive Arts Society, the International Tuba-Euphonium Association, and the American Society of Composers, Authors, & Publishers.

Mr. Fallon and his wife, Melissa, live in the community and have four children who all attend EMS ISD schools. He has coached baseball teams in the Pioneer Youth Baseball & Softball Association and has had children involved in baseball, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, dance, running, and band programs throughout the Saginaw community. Melissa Fallon also works for EMS ISD in the athletics office and assists with the district’s Summer Programs.

We are excited to welcome Mr. Fallon to this new role and look forward to the continued success of the award-winning Boswell Band Program under his leadership.
