First Band Director Named for Eagle Mountain High School

Alyson HolleyEMS ISD is pleased to announce that Alyson Holley has been selected as the first Eagle Mountain High School Director of Bands. Holley has extensive experience as a music educator at the high school level, serving as the associate band director at Saginaw High School since 2012. Prior to that, she served for three years as a private contractor teaching band in EMS ISD.  

“We are very excited that Ms. Alyson Holley will lead the Eagle Mountain High School band program as the first head director,” said Shawn Bell, EMS ISD Director of Fine Arts. “Ms. Holley has been instrumental in the success of the Saginaw High School band over the last 11 years. With her vast experience, it will be exciting to watch as she sets a standard for music excellence at EMHS.” 

In addition to her current role at SHS as associate band director, Holley is also the AP Music Theory Instructor and sponsor for the Tri-M National Honor Society at Saginaw High School. Under her direction, the Symphonic Band has regularly earned “Excellent” ratings. 
 
Holley graduated summa cum laude with her bachelor’s degree in music education from Texas Christian University in 2009 and her master's in wind conducting in 2012. She has taken groups to, and performed at, the Rose Bowl, Carnegie Hall, and the Latin Music Festival in Puerto Rico. She also performs with the Texas Chamber Music Project and Northeast Orchestra. 

“I am beyond excited to come to Eagle Mountain High School to serve as the inaugural director of bands,” Holley said. “I am thrilled to establish an exceptional band program and develop a legacy and pride for the Knights. I am committed to moving the arts forward at EMHS alongside our successful sister schools.” 

Holley was born in Corpus Christi, but the family soon moved to the Metroplex and she primarily grew up in Flower Mound. She lives in Fort Worth and enjoys spending time with her family and friends as well as her dog, Dakota. She also enjoys woodworking, cooking and wake surfing on Eagle Mountain Lake. 

Eagle Mountain HS will open in August 2024 with grades 9-11 in its inaugural year.
