Middle School Students Shine at EMS ISD Academic Competition

On Saturday, February 8, more than 200 middle school students from all six campuses within the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD (EMS ISD) gathered at Highland Middle School to showcase their academic talents in a highly anticipated competition. Students participated in a wide range of challenging events designed to test their skills and knowledge, including art, calculator challenges, chess puzzles, and listening skills. In addition to these, students engaged in activities involving maps, charts, graphs, number sense, ready writing, science, social studies, and many other subjects, each offering a unique opportunity for students to shine.

The competition was fierce, with students dedicating months of preparation and hard work to perform at their best. Their commitment to excellence was evident in the intensity of the day’s events, as each participant demonstrated impressive skill, focus, and teamwork. Among the highlights of the event was the close race for the top positions, with Ed Willkie Middle School earning a strong third-place finish, while Wayside Middle School took home the coveted first-place trophy. The competition for second place was especially tight, with only 5 points separating Wayside from Creekview Middle School, which earned second place in the overall standings.

This event was not just about winning but also about celebrating the dedication and perseverance of these students as they prepared for the competition. It served as a testament to their hard work and determination, and a great opportunity to recognize the many talents within EMS ISD. The day was filled with excitement, learning, and pride for all participants, teachers, and families who came together to celebrate the achievements of these incredible students.
