The Purple Purse Challenge kicked off Wednesday morning when SafeHaven CEO Mary Lee Hafley “passed the purse” to local morning DJ and domestic violence survivor Erin Wilde live on the air on 92.1 Hank FM. Along with Erin and Mayor Price, a third purse will be passed to the students in the CTV class at Creekview Middle School in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. Each of them will carry their purple purse for a week, posting pictures and inviting people to spot the purse, take photos, and then tag themselves on Twitter or Facebook with the hashtag #spotthepurse. At the end of the week, they will pass the purse to another community leader.
