The Board of Trustees approved the elementary school attendance zones for the 2021-2022 school year at a regular board meeting on Monday, December 14, 2020. Following feedback from the community, adjustments were made to the Eagle Mountain Elementary and Lake Pointe Elementary zones to accommodate for the addition of the district’s 17th elementary campus, Lake Country Elementary School, in fall 2021.
Opening Lake Country will help alleviate near-capacity enrollment at Eagle Mountain and Lake Pointe and accommodate future neighborhoods in the Bryson and Elkins attendance zones that have not yet been built. Under the approved plan, the following housing additions that will be rezoned to Lake Country Elementary include:
- Lake Country Estates
- Eagle Ranch
- Boswell Ranch
- Innisbrook Place
- Eagle’s Point Apartments
- Villa Lago Apartments
- The Water Front
- Sunset Cove
- Glen Eagles
- Eagle Ridge
- The Highlands
- Carter Slough
- Western Lakes
- Future housing from the active subdivisions of Talon Hill and The Hills of Lake Country
With attendance zones in place, district leaders will begin the process of interviewing and hiring the first principal and staff of Lake Country Elementary. Initial campus leadership will be announced in the spring.
Additional information about the attendance zone adjustment, including a map and Frequently Asked Questions, is available on the attendance zone section of the district website.
