Lake Country Elementary
Lake Country Elementary School, EMS ISD’s 29th campus, will open August 2021. Located off Boat Club Road in the Lake Country neighborhood, construction is well underway for the 98,000 square-foot campus. The building will contain 44 classrooms, a library, a gym, a cafetorium, multiple small group spaces, office space, a clinic, a workroom, and a breakroom. LCES is also the second campus in the district with a storm shelter requiring code entry. The design of the building’s exterior is meant to reflect the area’s terrain, and large windows across the second floor allow for abundant natural light.
Opening Lake Country will help alleviate near-capacity enrollment at Eagle Mountain and Lake Pointe elementaries and accommodate future neighborhoods in the Bryson and Elkins elementaries’ attendance zones that have not yet been built.
Bond Projects
In November 2017, voters in the EMS ISD community overwhelmingly approved a $524.7 million bond referendum to prepare for growth, update safety and security, replace aging and inadequate systems and facilities, and address standardization an equity and facilities across the district. The district is currently in the next phase of the project that includes 66 projects that will improve 20 campuses. The projects will approximately be completed throughout 2021.
