What is a Student Athletic Trainer?
A student athletic trainer provides a valuable service to the student athletes. They are responsible for providing basic first aid, injury prevention, rehabilitation of injuries and care for athletic equipment. These skills will be learned over a period of time through teaching lessons and observations during practices and games. To be able to learn these skills it is necessary to possess self-discipline and motivation.
What does a student athletic trainer do?
Student athletic trainers should be dedicated and supportive of their teams. Because of this, they are expected to be at all practices (football only) and games. They are responsible for getting certain things ready and helping make sure that the athletes are prepared for practices and games. During practice and games, they are to help with first aid, equipment problems, hydration and watching for possible injuries.
