I grew up in East Texas and graduated from Wills Point High School. My college years were spent in Tyler, TX, where I attended Tyler Junior College and UT Tyler. I received my BS in Interdisciplinary Studies, 1st through 8th grade certification, specializing in English and Art. I was thrilled to get my teaching job as a 5th grade reading teacher in Terrell, TX! In 1998, I began my graduate studies at Texas A&M in Commerce, to become a certified school counselor. I was hired as the school counselor for Elkins Elementary in 1999 and moved to Greenfield Elementary in 2006. It is very hard for me to believe that this is my 25th year in education! I feel very blessed to have spent 20 of those years here in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. I am currently working towards a goal I have always had, but until now, put off. I am excited to be an LPC-Intern! When I have successfully completed all of my hours, I will be a Licensed Professional Counselor. This will open many doors for me, as I will counsel outside of school as well as be a Professional School Counselor.
