Information

  • Wayside Tennis is open to all seventh and eighth-grade boys and girls.

Due to the construction of the new Wayside, tennis will be practiced at alternate locations for the next two years (see class specifics below).

    Beginner Tennis (8th period):

This is an introductory class focusing on the fundamentals of tennis. Players are required to participate in basic tennis drills, competition against other players, and strength/conditioning activities.

Players will need a current physical, a Wayside tennis uniform, an introductory tennis racquet, a water bottle, athletic shoes, and a hat.

On Mondays, players will remain at Wayside and participate in strength/conditioning activities. Players will dismiss at the normal time of 3:40 pm and by the normal method (walking home, bus, or parent pick up).

Tuesday-Friday players will be bussed to Prairie Vista Middle School (PVMS) at the beginning of 8th period for tennis practice. Parents are responsible for picking up their player at 4:10 pm from the PVMS tennis courts.

    Athletics/Team Tennis (1st period):

The class/team is for experienced players who will participate in advanced tennis drills, competition against other players, and strenuous strength/conditioning activities. The team competes in six matches against other district schools through the fall season, and six throughout the spring season.

All players will need a current physical, a Wayside tennis uniform, one intermediate to advanced tennis racquet, a water bottle, athletic shoes, and a hat.

Players will need to be dropped off at 7:15 am each day at the Eagle Mountain High School Tennis Center (EMHS) for practice. Players will then be bussed to Wayside for their second period class.
