Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD is pleased to announce that Beth Epps has been named the district’s new Director of Elementary Services. The EMS ISD Board of Trustees funded the position during their regular monthly meeting on March 31, 2025.

Epps, who serves as the principal of Dozier Elementary School this year, brings 30 years of experience in public education to her new role. She previously served in district leadership as the Director of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Dyslexia and was instrumental in supporting student learning across EMS ISD.

In her new position, Epps will play a key role in supporting elementary schools across the district, particularly as campuses transition to new instructional materials and curriculum updates. Her experience as a classroom teacher, elementary principal, and district leader makes her well-equipped to support teachers, students, and administrators at the elementary level.

“Beth Epps is a highly respected leader with a deep understanding of elementary education and a passion for student success,” said Dr. Dana Barnes, EMS ISD Deputy Superintendent. “Her experience and leadership will be invaluable as we continue to enhance instructional practices and provide the best learning environment for our students.”

Epps originally joined EMS ISD in 2012 as the principal of Parkview Elementary before being selected to open Dozier Elementary in 2016. She served as Dozier’s first principal until 2019 when she moved into a district leadership role before returning to Dozier in 2024 as part of districtwide budget adjustments.

“While I am excited to be asked to serve our elementary campuses in this new role, Dozier Elementary will always hold a special place in my heart,” Epps said. “I am grateful for the time I have spent with the students, staff, and families of Dozier, and I look forward to supporting the great work happening across all EMS ISD campuses.”

Epps earned a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Mathematics in 1995 and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership in 1999, both from Lubbock Christian University.

The search for a new principal for Dozier Elementary will begin immediately, with opportunities for staff and parents to provide input in the selection process. Epps will continue serving as Dozier’s principal through the end of the 2024-25 school year and will work closely with the incoming principal to ensure a smooth transition.
