Based on valuable feedback from families, staff, and the district’s Financial Integrity and Transparency Team (FITT), the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Board of Trustees has approved an update to the instructional calendar for the 2025-2026 school year.

Four previously scheduled half-days for students will now be full student holidays, allowing teachers and staff to use the time for professional development, curriculum and data collaboration and instructional planning.

The approved changes are as follows:

• September 26, 2025 – Student holiday / Staff workday

• November 7, 2025 – Student holiday / Staff workday

• February 13, 2026 – Student holiday / Staff workday

• March 13, 2026 – Student holiday / Staff workday

This change was made in response to concerns about attendance challenges on half-days and their impact on student learning and district funding. By adjusting these days to full student holidays, EMS ISD aims to enhance teacher planning and professional learning while also improving financial sustainability.
