• EMS ISD Summer Camps 2019

    EMS ISD Athletics and Fine Arts departments have partnered together to offer fun and exciting camps for various sports including football, soccer, volleyball, tennis, basketball and more. Special interest camps are also offered for those interested in musical theatre, choir, STEAM, PACE, band — the list goes on and on!
    Summer camps are open to current EMS ISD students as well as any interested students in the immediate or neighboring areas. We highly encourage you to register early! Many of our camps can only be held if a minimum number of participants register. Register early and share with your friends and neighbors!

    Camp Champ I (grades 2-6) -- June 3-6  / Camp Champ II (grades 2-6) – June 10-13
    Dodge the heat while competing with friends in Dodgeball, Kickball, Tag & other Games!
    Self-Regulation Camp (grades 2-4) -- June 10-13 
    Participants will work with a school counselor to help them learn self-regulation and impulse control skills. 
    Mindset Matters (grade 3-5) -- June 10-13
    Participants will learn lessons with a foundation of brain science, the magic of grit, and the benefits of learning, which will help them see positive outcomes of having a growth mindset.
    Looking Beyond the Mirror (girls, grade 3-5) -- June 10-13
    This camp is for any girl that needs to work on a healthy self-esteem.
    Camp Resiliency (grades 4-6) -- June 10-13
    Researched based topics like being healthy, goal setting, problem-solving, feelings, and managing stress will be addressed in this group.
    Be YOU! Discovering your true self (grades-7-9) -- June 10-13
    Participants will learn to develop a healthy self-esteem. Discovering ways to be true to themselves, discover positive qualities and how to overcome pressures of social media.
    Rising Above & Getting in the Zone (grades 7-9) -- June 10-13
    Participants will learn coping skills to work through stressful situations, manage anxiety and build resiliency.
    Communication 101 (grades 6-8) -- June 10-13
    Come learn how to listen, express and connect for success! Participants will learn to improve their communication skills and discuss appropriate social media communication.
    Leadership Camp (grades 6-8) -- June 10-13
    Participants will identify leadership qualities in themselves and discover areas in which they can grow: Teamwork, listening, self-awareness, motivation, and focus.
    Just SING it! Choir Camp (grades 4-6) -- June 10-12
    This camp is designed for incoming 4-6 graders returning to choir or interested in joining choir. Camp will conclude with a performance.
    Coding Camp 1 (grades 9-12) -- June 11-13 
    This introductory programming camp is designed to spark interest in coding, computer science, engineering and robotics.
    Discovery STEM Camp for Girls (grades 6-8) -- June 17-20
    Discovery STEM Camp combines design principles, hands-on labs, engineering challenges, digital investigation and career explorations.
    Stage FX Makeup 101 (grades 8-12) -- June 24-27
    Participants will explore the science and artistry that is stage and movie makeup!
    Take the Stage (grades 3-6) -- June 24-27
    This is an elementary theatre camp.
    Camp Pursuit (STEAM camp, grades 1-8) -- July 8-11
    Build your own STEAM summer camp! This camp is offered by NuMinds. Camp Pursuit is an engaging, mixed-age STEAM academic summer camp based on the premise that students pursue their passions until they become their talents! Students choose their favorite topic/courses from the course catalog.     EMS Middle School Band Camp (grades 7-8) -- July 15-18, 22-25
    Students will work on music in sectional and full band rehearsal. Will include an end of camp concert and an afternoon trip once a week.
    Boswell HS Jazz Summer Camp in partnership with the Helbing Jazz Initiative & Williamson Music 1st (grades 7-graduating seniors) -- July 22-26
    This summer jazz camp will include instruction and development with Grammy award-winning musicians from UNT, TCU, UTA and Tarleton State Universities.
    Broadway Bound – Middle School Musical! (grades 6-9) -- July 22-25, July 29-August 2
    This camp will take you from auditions to rehearsals to a final performance of a Broadway Jr. Musical.
    PACE Enrichment Camp (PACE grades 2-5) –  July 29-August 1
    GT students will participate in a variety of challenging activities in the areas of science, math and creative thinking skills.
    National Test Prep Courses (grades 9-12) -- June 10-27
