New Principal of Boswell High School Announced
EMS ISD is pleased to announce Ryan Wilson as the new principal of Boswell High School. Wilson brings more than two decades of experience in Texas public education, including the last 17 years serving as a high school and middle school principal in Carroll ISD.
His career began as a middle school science teacher in both Lewisville ISD and Carroll ISD before becoming assistant principal at George Dawson Middle School in Carroll ISD in 2005. In 2008, Wilson become principal at George Dawson and then was named as the principal at Carroll Senior High School in 2021. While at Carroll Senior High, Wilson was known for making strong connections with students and families while cultivating a team of exceptional educators, implementing initiatives that directly improved student outcomes, and championing programs that balanced academic rigor with meaningful extracurricular engagement.
“Ryan Wilson is a seasoned leader whose career reflects both depth of experience and a deep-rooted commitment to the students and communities he serves,” said Dr. Walter Berringer, EMS ISD Executive Director of Secondary Services. “His long tenure in previous roles speaks to the trust he builds with students, families, and staff alike. We are confident his steady leadership and student-focused mindset will be a tremendous asset to Boswell High School.”
Wilson earned his bachelor’s degree in wildlife & fisheries science from Texas A&M University and his master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from the University of North Texas.
“Boswell High School's strong reputation and commitment to preparing students for success beyond graduation resonates deeply with my values as an educator,” Wilson said. “I am honored to bring my passion, experience and dedication to the Boswell and EMS ISD community.”
Wilson and his wife of 25 years, Jenny, have a son and daughter: Sam recently completed his junior year at Texas A&M as a student of mathematics; and Avery, who just completed her freshman year at Texas A&M as a student in the Mays Business School studying marketing. He and Jenny enjoy attending their local church, spending time with friends and family, and keeping up with their three West Highland white terrier pups.
The district extends sincere thanks to the Boswell High School families for their participation in the principal selection process. Input from the family survey, along with feedback and participation from Boswell staff and students during interviews, was instrumental in helping identify the next leader for the campus.
Wilson will officially start working at Boswell in early July in preparation for the upcoming school year. There will be a meet and greet scheduled for families and we will share that information when it is scheduled. Please join EMS ISD in welcoming Ryan Wilson to Boswell High School and EMS ISD.
