Dr. Lorene Johnson Named Principal of Comanche Springs Elementary 
  
EMS ISD is pleased to announce Dr. Lorene Johnson as the new principal of Comanche Springs Elementary. With more than 30 years dedicated to public education, Dr. Johnson brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for student success to her new leadership role. 
  
Dr. Johnson holds degrees from Texas A&M University, the University of New Mexico, and Dallas Baptist University. Her career spans a variety of positions, from classroom teacher to campus administrator, with her serving most recently as Executive Director of Human Resources for Hillsboro ISD. She has served as both assistant principal and principal, demonstrating a strong commitment to instructional leadership and fostering supportive learning environments. 
  
“Students and teachers are the heart of the work, and I am looking forward to being a positive support in our journey at Comanche Springs,” Johnson said, adding that she is excited to bring her varied experience back to the campus where she feels she can have the biggest positive impact. 
  
Beth Sanders, EMS ISD Executive Director of Elementary Services, said Dr. Johnson’s experience and focus on people make her a strong match for the Comanche Springs campus. 
  
“Dr. Johnson brings not only decades of experience, but a heart for people and a strong belief in the power of relationships,” Sanders said. “Her leadership will be a wonderful addition to Comanche Springs, and I know she will build on the great things already happening on campus.” 
  
Spur families played an important part in the principal selection process. From thoughtful feedback on the family survey to active participation in staff interviews, the support and insight from the school community helped guide the decision in finding the right leader for Comanche Springs. 
  
In addition to her instructional experience, Dr. Johnson is also a proud mother to two adult daughters, Danielle and Bailey, and enjoys hiking, collecting children’s books, and spending time with her Italian Greyhound, Luna. She looks forward to becoming an active part of the Comanche Springs community and will begin making campus visits throughout May ahead of her official start in mid-June.
