First Principal Named for Hatley Elementary School

Terrilin Holz

EMS ISD is pleased to announce Terrilin Holz as Elizabeth Lopez Hatley Elementary School's first principal. Currently serving as the assistant principal of Lake Country Elementary School, Holz brings 21 years of experience in public school education, with the last three of those spent in school administration.

Holz began her career in education teaching fourth and second grade in Keller ISD and HEB ISD before moving to EMS ISD six years ago as a fourth-grade teacher at High Country Elementary School. After 18 years in the classroom, she moved into campus administration as an assistant principal at Greenfield Elementary School for two years before serving as the first assistant principal at Lake Country Elementary, helping to open the new campus for the Fall 2021 semester. She earned her Master’s in Educational Administration from the University of Phoenix and her undergraduate degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from The University of North Texas.

“Terrilin leads from a strong sense of purpose, passion, dedication and care for the students, staff and families she serves,” said Dr. Audrey Arnold, EMS ISD Executive Director of Elementary Education. “Her heart is for each child and their individual growth and development.”

Hatley Elementary School, EMS ISD’s 30th campus and 18th elementary serving grades PreK-5, will open in August 2023. Located in the Beltmill Development northeast of Saginaw Boulevard and Bailey Boswell Road, construction is well underway for the campus. Opening the campus will help alleviate enrollment at Bryson and Comanche Springs elementaries and accommodate future neighborhoods in those campuses' elementary attendance zones.

As she leads the new campus, Holz will focus on academic success and ensuring every child reaches their individual goals by providing a supportive environment through positive relationships, a culture of high expectations, and partnerships between families and the school.

“It is my honor to have been selected to serve as the principal of Elizabeth Lopez Hatley Elementary School,” Holz said. “I look forward to partnering with the students, families and staff to establish a collaborative learning community that exemplifies the already established educational excellence of Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD.”

In addition to being a lifelong educator, Holz enjoys spending time with her family. She is the very proud mother of two daughters and two beautiful grandchildren.

Holz will officially move into her role as principal in February to begin preparations for the opening of Hatley Elementary in the fall.
