The EMS ISD Board of Trustees officially approved the contract to hire Hollingsworth as superintendent during a special meeting on December 2, 2024. This followed a mandatory 21-day wait period required by state law, which expired on November 25, 2024, during the Thanksgiving week holiday. Hollingsworth’s first official day in EMS ISD will be Monday, January 1, 2025.
“My family and I are honored to have the opportunity to serve the students, staff, and families of Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD and get involved in the community,” Hollingsworth said. “We have already received such a warm welcome and we look forward to calling EMS ISD our home.”
Hollingsworth joins EMS ISD from Waxahachie ISD, where he has served as superintendent since 2021. Prior to that, he led as superintendent of Bandera ISD. Throughout his 32-year career, he has gained extensive experience as a high school teacher and at the campus and district executive leadership level in school communities across north and central Texas. A graduate of nearby Boyd High School, Hollingsworth holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and earned his master's and doctorate degrees from the University of North Texas.
A respected leader across the state, Hollingsworth also is active in professional organizations as well as his local community. He is a member of the Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA), where he also participates in the TASA Future-Ready Superintendents Leadership Network and is a member of the Leadership Network’s Design Team. Locally, he is a member of the local Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club, and he is active with his local church. He and his wife of more than 25 years, Ginger, have three sons: Wyatt, a recent graduate of Texas Tech University; Lane, who currently attends Texas Tech; and Clayton, who is a high school junior.
During his first few weeks in EMS ISD, Hollingsworth will work closely with outgoing Superintendent Dr. Jim F. Chadwell, who will assist with the transition of leadership as Superintendent Emeritus until his retirement on January 31, 2025.
