New Principal of Lake Country Elementary Announced
Karin Polk Named Principal of Lake Country Elementary
EMS ISD is pleased to announce Karin Polk as the new principal of Lake Country Elementary. Polk brings more than two decades of experience in Texas public education, including the last four years serving as an elementary principal in Waxahachie ISD.
Her career began in Pasadena ISD before relocating to Waxahachie in 2010, where she has served in a variety of instructional and leadership roles. These include classroom teacher, instructional coach, elementary math curriculum coordinator, and assistant principal. Known for her collaborative approach, Polk is recognized as a strong instructional leader who values structure, high expectations, and a learning environment that empowers students, staff, and families alike.
Polk earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Elementary Education and Educational Leadership. She and her husband, Trenton, have two sons, Noah and Judah.
“I am thrilled to join Lake Country Elementary and lead a campus that is known for its strong community and its commitment to excellence,” Polk said. “I’m excited to build meaningful relationships with the families and staff as we work together to help every student grow and succeed.”
Beth Sanders, EMS ISD Executive Director of Elementary Services, said Polk’s leadership style and alignment with the values of the LCES community and EMS ISD make her a great fit for the campus.
“We are excited for the future of Lake Country and confident that Mrs. Polk will continue the excellence that our LCES staff and community expect and deserve,” Sanders said.
The district extends sincere thanks to the Lake Country ES families for their participation in the principal selection process. Input from the family survey, along with feedback and participation from LCES staff during interviews, was instrumental in helping identify the next leader for the campus.
Polk will replace Anke Bracey, who is retiring at the end of the school year after 34 years in education and 25 years as a principal, the last four at LCES. Families will be invited to welcome Mrs. Polk at a Meet and Greet event, which will be scheduled for later in May or June. Please join EMS ISD in welcoming Mrs. Polk to the #LCELions family!
