New Principal of Comanche Springs Elementary School Announced

Woman smilingEagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD is pleased to announce that Gina Mayfield has been named the new principal of Comanche Springs Elementary School. Mayfield has over 30 years of experience in public education and previously worked in EMS ISD as the principal of Northbrook Elementary School.  

Throughout her career, Mayfield has served students in a variety of roles including as a teacher, district math specialist and school administrator. She served as principal of Harrison Lane Elementary School and Shady Oaks Elementary School in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD before stepping into the same role at Northbrook. She has also served as an adjunct education professor at Dallas Baptist University. 

“Gina Mayfield was highly respected and loved by her students, staff and families while she served as the principal at Northbrook Elementary,” said Dr. Audrey Arnold, EMS ISD Executive Director of Elementary Services. “Her collaborative leadership style and servant heart will have similar impact at Comanche Springs.” 

Mayfield earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Southern Methodist University and a master's degree in educational administration from the University of North Texas. 

“I believe children learn best when they feel safe and loved at school and when there is a strong connection between school and home,” Mayfield said. “I am honored to serve as principal of Comanche Springs Elementary and I look forward to working with the Comanche Springs staff, families and community to ensure this type of environment for our students.” 

In her free time, Mayfield enjoys spending time with her close-knit family, which consists of her husband, David, daughters, Christa and Elizabeth, sons-in-law, Adam and Ryan, and seven grandchildren ranging in age from three to 16. She is active in her church and enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach and reading. 

Mayfield will begin her new role at CSES this summer in preparation for the 2023-2024 school year.
