• Elementary through High School Credit Recovery and High School Acceleration

    Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD will offer a variety of summer programs to meet the needs of students in grades K – 12.  Please see the information below for the specific offerings. Contact your campus administration if you have questions about your child’s summer school assignment or would like to request your student participate in one of the summer school programs. 

  • Elementary Options    

    Bilingual/ESL Program for Incoming Students in Kindergarten and First Grade

    This required summer school program is provided for bilingual/ESL students who will be eligible for admission to kindergarten and first grade at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year.  These students will receive targeted instruction in language development, academic skills, and social skills.  Additional emphasis will be to accelerate learning skills in reading, writing, and math.

    Grades:  Incoming K-1

    Campus:  Gililland Elementary

    Days:  Monday-Thursday

    Dates:  May 31-June 30

    Hours:  8:00 am-3:00 pm

    Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.

    Elementary Intervention Academy for Students in Grades 2-5*

    This program will serve current second- fifth grade students in need of academic support in reading and math. ESL services will also be provided.

    Grades:  Current 2-5 

    Campuses:  Northbrook, Remington Point & Willow Creek (Assigned by location)

    Days:  Monday-Thursday

    Dates:  June 6- June 23

    Hours:  7:45 am-12:00 pm

    Meet the Teacher is Thursday, June 2 from 5:30- 6:30 pm at the assigned campus.

    Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.

    Middle School Options

    Middle School Course Recovery Program for Grades 6-8*

    This program will be offered to all current 6th, 7th, & 8th grade students who have failed two or more core subjects (English Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, and/or Science) or whose overall average is less than 70 and are designated as being retained. Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.

    Dates:              June 6-June 23

    Hours:             8:00 am-12:00 pm

    High School Options

    High School Credit Recovery Program in Grades 9-12*

    This program offers students currently enrolled in high school course the opportunity to retake a course in which credit was not acquired. The course did not have to be taken during the 21-22 school year to be eligible as a course taken in the summer of 2022. This option assists students to make up credits and begin the 22-23 school year back on track. Courses offered:

    Hours:             8:30 am-11:30 am/12:30 pm-3:30 pm

    Cost:                $200 per .5 credit course for in-district students.

                            $300 per .5 credit course for out-of-district students.  

    On-Site registration is Thursday, June 2nd from 8:00 am- 12:00 pm at Chisholm Trail High School.       

    Transportation, breakfast, and lunch will be provided.

    High School Acceleration Program in Grades 8-12*

    This program is offered during the month of June for students to earn initial credit in courses required for gradation. All students attending an EMS ISD high school in 22-23 are eligible to participate in this program. Most students who take advantage of this program utilize it to open room in their future schedule for other programs they would like to take such as Athletics, Fine Arts or Career & Technology courses. Courses offered:

    Campus:          Chisholm Trail High School

    Days:               Monday-Thursday

    Dates:              June 1-16 and/or June 20-30

    Hours:             8:30 am- 3:30 pm

    Cost:    $200 for .5 credit course for in-district students.

                $300 for .5 credit course for out-of-district students.

    On-Site registration is Thursday, June 2nd from 8:00 am- 12:00 pm at Chisholm Trail High School.

    High School EOC Academy*

    This program is encouraged for any student who was unsuccessful on an End of Course (EOC) Exam during the 21-22 school year. Students take EOC Exams at the high school level in English 1, English 2, Algebra 1, Biology and U.S. History. Students must pass these five EOC exams as a part of their high school graduation requirements. Based on HB4545, all students who are unsuccessful on an EOC exam are required to attend remediation to fill gaps and prepare for the next opportunity to retake the exam (June 21-23). By attending Summer School EOC Academy, students will meet the HB4545 requirement. This program does not award high school credit. No fee is associated with this program.
