Interim Grading Regulations 2019-2020
The COVID-19 global health crisis has caused a major shift in daily practices for everyone, including public education. EMS ISD leaders understand this affects each of our families differently and, as we make decisions regarding the continuation of instruction, we are thoughtful and sensitive to individual struggles, stressors, and demands our students and parents are facing.During this time of extended school closure due to COVID-19, we have transitioned to a distance learning model that ensures our students' education follows our curriculum and provides opportunities to continue their learning. Interim grading regulations have been designed to continue a culture of high student expectations while remaining flexible and supportive of the home learning environment. We want our families to know that, at any time throughout this process you have a concern or challenge in supporting your child's distance learning, we ask you to reach out to your child's teacher, school Principal, or district leadership for assistance. We are here to support, guide, and problem solve with you.The EMS ISD Interim Grading Regulations outlined below will be followed for the 2019-2020 spring semester. You can download regulations in PDF form at the following links:These regulations will remain in place whether we are able to return to our physical buildings to finish out the school year or if we are compelled to continue distance learning for the remainder of the semester.The EMS ISD Interim Grading Regulations will be followed for the 2019-2020 spring semester throughout the EMS Distance Learning Plan or if our campuses are allowed to re-open based on recommendations of Tarrant County, the Governor of Texas, the Center for Disease Control (CDC), and the United States President.
