First Principal of the new Lake Country Elementary Announced
Published February 4, 2021
EMS ISD is pleased to welcome Anke Bracey to the district as Lake Country Elementary School's first principal. Currently serving as principal of Boyd Elementary School in Boyd ISD, Bracey brings 29 years of experience in public school education, with the last 23 of those spent in school administration.
Bracey began her career in education teaching math in Irving ISD. After 6 years in the classroom, she joined Weatherford ISD as assistant principal and was then named principal in Boyd ISD in 2000. She earned her Master’s in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas and her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from Midwestern State University.
"Anke is an enthusiastic and capable leader who will guide the district's newest campus to success," said Executive Director of Elementary Services Lisa Dunn. "We are so excited to welcome her to the EMS ISD family."
Lake Country Elementary School, EMS ISD’s 29th campus, will open August 2021. Located off Boat Club Road in the Lake Country neighborhood, construction is well underway for the 98,000 square-foot campus. Opening the campus will help alleviate near-capacity enrollment at Eagle Mountain and Lake Pointe elementaries and accommodate future neighborhoods in the Bryson and Elkins elementaries’ attendance zones.
As she leads the new campus, Bracey says her focus will be to build positive relationships, maintain a supportive culture of high expectations, and create partnerships between families and the school for academic success.
“It is my sincere pleasure and honor to have been selected to serve as principal of Lake Country Elementary School," Bracey said. "I enthusiastically look forward to partnering with the students, families and staff to create and maintain a student-centered, collaborative learning community that exemplifies the already established educational excellence of Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD. Go Lions!”
In addition to being a lifelong educator and learner, Bracey is passionate about health and fitness and enjoys staying active, traveling and spending time outside. An EMS ISD resident, she lives in Fort Worth with her daughter, Alexandra, who is a freshman at Tarleton State University.
Bracey will officially join EMS ISD on February 22, 2021, to begin preparations for the opening of Lake Country Elementary in the fall.
