District Seeks Community Input on Proposed Attendance Zones for New Elementary
The District seeks input on the proposed attendance zones for Lake Country Elementary School, which is set to open in August 2021. The new campus will help alleviate high enrollment at Lake Pointe and Eagle Mountain elementary schools. It also will accommodate future housing in the Bryson and Elkins attendance zones that have not yet been built. Under the proposed attendance zone plan, the following housing additions that could possibly be rezoned to Lake Country Elementary include:
- Lake Country Estates,
- Eagle Ranch,
- Boswell Ranch,
- Innisbrook Place,
- Eagle’s Point Apartments,
- Villa Lago Apartments,
- The Water Front,
- Sunset Cove,
- Glen Eagles,
- Eagle Ridge,
- The Highlands,
- Carter Slough,
- Western Lakes,
- Secret Harbor,
- and future housing from the active subdivisions of Talon Hill and The Hills of Lake Country.
Normally, District leaders host an in-person parent meeting to discuss proposed attendance zone changes. However, the presentation is available online this year to adhere to COVID-19 safety protocols. All families can review the proposed attendance zone adjustments by watching the Elementary Attendance Zones Lake Country video and provide feedback to the District through the dedicated Attendance Zone question area on Let's Talk. Information and responses to community questions will be posted on the district attendance zone website as they are received. Frequently asked questions are available now through the district attendance zone website.
All submitted comments will be reviewed before a proposal is presented to the Board of Trustees for consideration in December.
